The Faculty of Dentistry at Suleyman Demirel University was established in 1995 and started to give undergraduate education in the same year. With an area of 22.000 square meters, it is now among the biggest faculties in Turkey. The faculty provides education for over 300 undergraduate as well as 80 postgraduate students and makes a great contribution to the medical services by treating a yearly average of over 57.000 patients.

The objective of The Faculty of Dentistry is to train innovative and inquisitive dentists prioritizing patient satisfaction, thus helping to protect the oral and dental health of the public and to make proper contributions to the science through its research.   .

In The Faculty of Dentistry, theoretical training is provided by the specialized academic staff. Pre-clinic courses in which students acquire hand skills and manual dexterity before they can start to treat patients are taught in laboratories which are equipped with the latest and cutting-edge hardware and severally reserved for the courses of prosthodontics, endodontics, and restorative dentistry. Moreover, before starting to treat any patient, each student receives practical training on his/her own dental head phantom model.

The students of The Faculty of Dentistry at SDU may continue their education in partner faculties abroad with scholarship for 3, 6, and 12 months through the Erasmus student exchange programme.

Those students who complete their training in basic sciences and pre-clinical practices continue their training in clinics equipped with sophisticated and invariably renovated devices. Our students perform their practices orally in their reserved units accompanied by an academic member.
