Suleyman Demirel University Faculty of Dentistry was established in the old Sumerbank building in the city center in 1995 under primitive conditions, student education and training started in the same year. As the founding Dean, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Şenol TÜZÜM served between 1996 and 2002, respectively, between 2002 and 2004 Prof. Dr. Sadullah ÜÇTAŞLI, between 2005 and 2008 Prof. Dr. Musa Üstün GÜLDAG, between 2008 and 2011 Prof. Dr. Fatma Yeşim KIRZIOGLU, between 2015-2022 Prof. Timucin BAYKUL, since June 2022 Prof. Dr. Murat MADEN served as Dean. Our Faculty, which has been continuing its studies non-stop since 1995, has reached a respected position throughout the country. Currently, it is among the largest faculties of Turkey with a usage area of 22.000 square meters. It contributes to education and training with more than 300 undergraduate and more than 80 doctoral students and to health services by treating an average of more than 57,000 patients per year. The aim of SDU Faculty of Dentistry is to help protect the oral and dental health of the society by educating innovative and researcher dentists who prioritize patient satisfaction and to contribute to science in the right direction with its research. Theoretical trainings at SDU Faculty of Dentistry are given by faculty members who specialize in their fields. Preclinical lessons, in which dexterity and skill are given to the students before receiving patients in the clinics, are given in laboratories equipped with modern and up-to-date equipment for prosthesis, endodontics and restorative dentistry lessons. Apart from these, before proceeding to the treatment applications on the patient, each student continues his practical training in his own phantom models that imitate the normal human mouth and body. SDU Faculty of Dentistry students can continue their education at the faculties we have contracted abroad with scholarships for 3, 6 and 12 months with the Erasmus program. Students who have completed their basic science and preclinical education continue their clinical education in clinics equipped with constantly renewed advanced devices. In the units reserved for them, students, accompanied by a faculty member, perform the application of their theoretical education in the mouth of the patient.
